Climb, swing, balance and beat your personal best. The Ahorn-Sportpark is expanding the Ahörnchen-Spielplatz with a new obstacle course. Featuring a variety of stations, it combines sporting challenges with the joy of being active and invites children, teenagers and adults to have a go.
On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Ahorn-Sportpark became a major gathering place for families from Paderborn and across the region from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm. Now in its 13th year, the Radio Hochstift-Ferienfinale once again brought families together to mark the end of the summer holidays, offering children, young people and parents a day packed with sport, games and a wide range of activities.
On 13 May 2026, the nationwide 'Trikottag' (Jersey Day) took place. As part of the event, visitors had the chance to win one of six jerseys by taking a photo in the photo booth set up in the foyer.
The Ahorn Sport- und Freizeit-Club Paderborn e. V. (ASC) and partners are bidding farewell to the 2026 summer holidays with a wide range of sports activities for all ages at the Ahorn-Sportpark. Visitors can look forward to a fun-filled day of exercise and entertainment at the 13th Radio Hochstift-Ferienfinale on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm. Admission is free.
With plenty of exercise, imagination and shared experiences, the Ahorn-Sportpark became a place where diversity came to life on 21 March 2026: during the action day ‘Fun and Games in the Land of Four Colours – a colourful sports programme against racism’, 30 families enjoyed a special afternoon as part of the action weeks against racism. This event, which not only stimulated the children’s imagination but also conveyed important values such as tolerance and community, was organised by the Ahorn Sport- und Freizeit-Club Paderborn e. V. (ASC) and the Diakonie Paderborn-Höxter e. V.
With the ground-breaking ceremony on 19 February 2026, construction work on the expansion of Ahorn-Sportpark has officially begun. The new building, featuring a strength and athletics area spanning over 850 m², will provide the much-needed space to ensure the best possible training conditions for competitive athletes from the sports clubs based at Ahorn-Sportpark.
On Saturday, 21 March 2026, the Ahorn Sport- und Freizeit-Club Paderborn e. V. (ASC), in collaboration with Diakonie Paderborn-Höxter e. V., will be offering an exciting range of sports activities at the Ahorn-Sportpark from 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm. This free event is part of Anti-Racism Week and is aimed at children aged four to seven and their families.
Due to upcoming construction work on a section of the north car park at Ahorn-Sportpark, the fitness trail will be diverted via the entrance to the athletics stadium from Monday 19 January 2026 until at least the end of August.
From now on, Kurt-Bendlin-Allee on the grounds of Ahorn-Sportpark commemorates Paderborn’s top athlete Kurt Bendlin, who passed away last year at the age of 81.
On Sunday 31 August 2025, Ahorn-Sportpark welcomed Dr Christiane Schenderlein, Member of the Bundestag and CDU politician, who has held the post of Minister of State for Sport and Volunteering at the Federal Chancellery since this year.
